I forgot I had Juicy Gems Fresh Pomegranate Arils in my refrigerator, and they are past the expiration date. Are they ok to eat?

We always suggest smelling the fruit before eating to see if the natural fermentation process has started. If you smell alcohol, that is the first clue that the fermentation process has begun. Our next suggestion, make pomegranate sangria! Now it’s a fiesta! Ole!

What can I do if my fresh pomegranate arils didn’t make it to the best by date?

This does happen on occasion – it is fruit, and that means it is sensitive like berries, avocados, etc. Just like noted above, we always suggest smelling the fruit before eating to see if the natural fermentation process has started. If you smell alcohol, that is the first clue that the fermentation process has begun. Our next suggestion, make pomegranate sangria! Now it’s a fiesta! Ole!
